Accessibility Statement

Tillgänglighetsredogörelse enligt Lag (2018:1937) om tillgänglighet till digital offentlig service

About this website

The Family Business Research Dashboard is published by the WIFU Foundation and managed by the Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO) at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS), Jönköping University. It provides an interactive overview of family business research publications indexed in OpenAlex.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as referenced by the European standard EN 301 549, and with the Swedish Act (2018:1937) on Accessibility to Digital Public Services. The non-compliances are listed below.

Known accessibility limitations

The following content is not fully accessible:

1. Charts and data visualizations (WCAG 1.1.1) — Interactive charts rendered on HTML canvas elements provide summary labels but do not expose underlying data in a fully accessible format. Users of assistive technology can access the same data through the accompanying data tables.

2. Responsive layout at very high zoom (WCAG 1.4.10) — At zoom levels above 300%, some data tables may require horizontal scrolling. We are working on improving the responsive behaviour of data-heavy views.

3. Color as sole differentiator in charts (WCAG 1.4.1) — Some chart elements use color alone to distinguish categories. The accompanying legends and data tables provide the same information in text form.

What we have done

The dashboard implements the following accessibility measures:

• All pages include skip-navigation links, semantic HTML landmarks (<nav>, <main>, <footer>), and proper heading hierarchy.

• All interactive controls (filter buttons, expand/collapse toggles, level switches) expose their state to assistive technology via aria-pressed, aria-expanded, and aria-controls.

• All data tables include scope attributes on headers and visually hidden <caption> elements.

• All text uses relative units (rem) to support browser-level font scaling.

• Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements.

• Animations and transitions respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query.

• The loading indicator uses role="progressbar" and aria-valuenow to communicate progress to screen readers.

• Filter status updates are announced via aria-live regions.

• Text contrast meets WCAG 1.4.3 minimum ratios (4.5:1 for normal text).
